Frontosa Breeding report
Frontasa My first breeding took place by chance, I got from an acquaintance a second Frontosa given because this was too big for his pool.
I did not know we had by chance a couple.
noticed a few weeks later I am suddenly a little striped fish krübeln at the water surface, after a moment I realized it was a young fully trained Frontosa.
Now that even the second breeding is coming up I will not deny my experiences.
pool:
offer many hiding places, because couples often hunt and defend their territory, usually they get along just when it comes to mating.
water: 26C °
accompanying species:
swim with me Tropheus duboisi and various catfish as L66 in the tank, they seem to Frontosa in breeding not to interfere.
breeding:
It appears that the willingness of Frontosas after changing the water to rise, they usually begin after a water change immediately to build new nests.
The ground is freed up on the glass surface of stones, then there are the eggs deposited.
juveniles:
The female retains the small up to 4 weeks in the mouth, this time the female eats almost nothing, although it floats on the food, the mouth opens, but only a very small gap, now and then at least they can take some fine flake food to him.
The young fish are then released after about 4 weeks into the water where they immediately look for a place to hide, then they are already fully developed small Frontosa with about 1 cm length.
food for young fish:
I mean young fish feed with fine flakes, granules, fine frozen food, everything must be very fine.
When I discovered the hiding of my small nehem I also like a long pipette, and give the food directly in front of the hide, then they have not so far come out of hiding.
growth: The small Frontosa
grow quickly, in about 2 months they have grown from 1cm to 3cm big Frontosa.
This image shows a fresh from the mouth of the mother dismissed Frontosa.

Senegal Bichirs
For several years, I also think a Bichirs Senegal, which I affectionately call my little dragon. Why? Because he really looks the part.
supposedly they are very aggressive, so I could see but not yet, at least in my very peaceful, I do not know if I caught the exception to the rule I;)
Here are some key dates for this beautiful fish: There are currently 10
subspecies. Distribution: West and Central Africa, east to Lake Tanganyika.
size: Senegal rarely exceeds 20-25cm, there are also species which will be for up to 1m.
pool: at least 240 liters, with many hiding places, where animals are eingwöhnt well they come out often during the day.
Food: omnivore, my Senegal eat everything from flakes to pellets, frozen food and live food, but prefer live food or frozen food accepted.
Bichirs look very bad, they find their food to the sense of smell.

Triops breeding report
12.00
clock is now my approach exactly 24 hours old. I just looked, there are still only get 2, hopefully a couple ... ..
13.13 clock
the moment I can find only 1 I see tonight after time.
20.00 clock
have just come home, I see three Triops, cool
22.05
clock somehow I see only 2, either I have just one double-counted ('re already mad rush these things) or I have not seen the 3 or if he is gone
22.43 clock
it actually seem to be only 2, they somehow come to me before larger I hope to slip it some more, the same approach since 36 hours have passed.
1.21
clock is actually already the 29th March, but for me the next day always begins only after I was asleep.
So, 2 Triops is not enough to me, so I have been a little bit of the mixture into the water very carefully and not too much, maybe a pinch. Maybe develop something from the Mix the inside was already, but perhaps also from the new.
Let's see what it looks like tomorrow, luckily I have plenty of time for vacation and my Triops and I wonder whether my Bericht.Gerade I'll burn the lamp again, the conscience bites me because of power wasted, oh so so ne small lamp do not matter but must Triops not sleep again? Will they be after over 24 hours of continuous action totally broken? So I would be a little bit, hmm about something I've never read about. Another plus is: I have a 1 room apartment and I can burn the last night so the light for the Triops, and somehow I have not slept well because as good as it is for me yes was also unusually bright. Well what you do not stop there. I wanted to burn me soj
I decide to let the lamp. Otherwise, the temperature drops too much, which reminds me to live but in small puddles, from the cool but also very quickly overnight, since there are not as large puddle in quantities of water. I've Ammis yes, but also in America and in Australia, the nights are colder than the days.
But what shall I let `s stop at times, the risk is too high to me but then, they will not kill you, yes.
I can not think straight at the beginning, I write a whole novel, I will have "the Lord of Triops" call by JRR Triops he is in 3 volumes come out and filmed some point in a 3-part movie spectacle of Peter Jackson ... ..
if I publish here once in a forum I do hope it is the people there not too long, you just make me remember the little creatures really big fun.
Day 3: Saturday 29 March 2008 Temperature: 25C °
11.28 clock
The two Triops are yesterday hatched are wide awake and already twice as big as yesterday (about 2mm), from the
pinch new batch I made yesterday still put into the water yet hatched. Have 1 small crumbs of food was fed in the set to rule the animals have not so far out.
Had something of the treated water which I stand ready to refill, as already mentioned, the water evaporates in the rearing bowl very fast. I always do with the pipette, very carefully, lest they be zusehr shaken up. Fit into a pipette 3ml water, 12 pipettes refilled = 36 ml of water.
13.32
clock is still slipped a bit, 1 animal of which I think it is not a Triops, but a Daphnia and a second animal that I have seen but only very briefly and could not see why or what if it's a Triops otherwise.
15.25 clock
Meanwhile I have my 2 great yesterday (about 2mm) and now even a small pair of hupfer Triops through the water, how many there are exactly I do not know, maybe 3-4 with 1 mm.
Ca. 18.00
My clock 2 large seem to have grown again. Guess they are now at about 3 mm. And the little scurry also, but could still not determine exactly how many there are.
night
fed Again a crushed Futterbröselchen, they will not immediately go to the food, but overnight they are not so hungry, I went to bed, I connected a timer that I have lying around still and relaxed for an hour, the light so I can sleep better.
Day 4: Sunday 30 March 2008 water temperature: 25C °
12:00 The two large clock
it goes really well, so slowly they get even color the legs look very true red, they are also grown (are now about 4 mm in size) the smaller are also developing well, but I think there are only 2 small because (ca.2mm large)
The one hour without lights last night splints to be getting all the good, had frightened the water in the hour might cool down too much.
Again 2 chopped food crumbs fed.
13.10 clock
Every day I have now topped with a pipette some water, I think that's very good there and it brings some oxygen into the water and generally refresh the water a bit.
interesting discovery: One of my two great legs has bright red and the other has been, either at one of the color pigments have not trained properly, or did I really happy with my 1 Breeding males have a right to it?
13.55 clock
interesting discovery: One of my two great has light legs and the other has been red, either in the one the color pigments have not trained properly, or did I really lucky with my one breeding right to have a male here ?
22.00
clock back regularly looked to see my 2 great Triops ca.4mm large and a smaller but which now is about 3mm in size already.
will sleep before again going to feed something, it looks like they have eaten the food completely.
5th Day: Monday, 31 March 2008
Today I had to work again this morning still cast a quick glance into the pool, 3 cute lively Triops, all nearly equal in size (about 4mm) a little fed quickly. today had the night light for about 4 hours off, so I can sleep better, have them identified seemingly nothing.
20.45Uhr
Home at last, my 3s'm fine, have grown again, are now about 5mm in size, fed again, so slow they need to eat something more, fed 3-4 food crumbs.
23.02 clock
It's so unbelievable, they are back now greater between 6-7mm tail fork, really unbelievable!
9th Friday, 04/04/2008 days water temperature 25C ° 19.41 clock
So today I finally write my report time again, all week had a lot of animal work. 2 days ago for the first time I've done a water change, I have a 50ml syringe and a mini tube is located on the ground sucks the sludge, exchanged a total of approximately 250ml of water (with the waiting-treated tap water). Yesterday once more the same. So actually I do it every day now, unfortunately I am still not gotten the new larger prepare pools for the animals. You still have to endure something in the dish. I have 3 well-developed Triops, the big one is now about 2cm in size and the 2 smaller each about 1.5 cm. All goes well, they eat and grow like crazy, I try to feed at least 3 times a day (if I get through the work on) so what are at least 2 times a day. I have ever tried to feed them fish food flakes, was quickly away over night, I'm always in the light now, it drops the water temperature to 20C degrees, but it does not seem to mind. I think the worst of it now, out of which are quite robust and animals.
Oh yes, could one of the Triops I thought it be a male has still stained, they have now all been a beautiful silver gray color (not as clear).
has the great development in feeding a very funny way, he goes to a corner of the basin at the water surface and spins like crazy with the legs, the water gets so moving the food thus drives him without he move from the spot needs. He then collects as much as possible and holds up to 6 feed crumbs firmly with one of his legs (so yes, the other 2 have no more than he;)
now I know why he is the greatest). I know
not know whether this behavior is normal, but the other two by looking for their food they scan the water surface or the floor.
I find it very definitely very funny, a Triops has apparently come up with a special, efficient feed technology. Triops can imagine it? J
10 days Saturday, 5 April 2008
19.30 clock water temperature 25C °
Today I have changed a little water, then I'm happy now somewhat eroded sand in the rearing tanks, the Triops about it like crazy, butteln butteln them and makes really fun to watch.
could I also now finally seen a molt, (at my lowest) it went so fast, the Triops is shaking like crazy and whoosh was the old cover off, has lasted only 2 seconds.
size of Triops today: my "big" about 2.3 cm and the two smaller 2cm and 1.8 cm. Gabs food today already 2 times.
11 days Sunday, April 6th 2008
22.42 clock
Again water changed, nothing to report, they eat and grow, and are happy they can butteln in the sand. Today, fed 3 times.
Size: 1 x 2.4 cm x 1.8 cm and 1 and one 2cm

Today I finally got my other tank set up and got the heater in and treated tap water, all I will now stand for a few days so the water enters something. Currently my Triops grow very slowly, the big one is now about 2.7 cm and the smaller 2.3 and 2.5 cm, so it will be the last time they get out of the small breeding pool, then I think they are grow again quickly.

Triops Breeding approach
delivery by post 11.30 clock
Galileo Triops basic set of Clementoni Price 15.99 at Amazon.de
contents: 1 mini plastic tanks (rearing cup) with cover and removal
1 package breeding eggs with wood mixture (Conditioner )
1 package 1 package food
sand
a plastic bag with forceps, syringe, spoon, pipette, etc.
according to the description, it is American (as I better my English again improve;)
first Days: 12.00 clock Thursday 27 March 2008
expenditure: 15,99 € (basic set) and a little water purifier (which I had already) +18.99 (heating element) = € 34.98 Total
approach to delivery with a good 1 / 3 of the Triopseier with tap water Water and Tetra aquarium for 4 drops to about 1 liter of water, ° C water temperature around 24.
The first 1.5 hours (13.32 clock) have passed, would have expected something more when it is apparent that rain, I would still look after sometime. Explore
expected, still nothing, water temperature dropped to just over 20C °, hopefully it does not matter.
14.23 clock
Have now found a lamp (40 watts) over the small pool, in part, to lighting, but I hope that this can increase the water temperature, because I'm afraid the water temperature could still fall further.
temperature at the time at 20C °.
15:40
temperature again at about 23C °,'m curious whether what.
temperature is now constant at about 25C °, which makes such a lamp everything.
evening
I still have a second vessel prepared with treated tap water and placed next to the breeding dish, because I noticed the water in the pan evaporates very quickly, better safe than sorry. I let the water stand there, so that when it is needed the same temperature as the pool water has. Have
by a pipette and the waiting water again, the edges of the basin abgeträufelt careful to stick in case this still a couple eggs on the edge.
second Days: 10.00 clock Friday 28 March 2008 Water temp: still stable at 25C °
discovered the first Naupile and there is a second, cool, after exactly 22 hours! You shrug merrily through the water. Let's see how many will be. Size of Naupilen about 1mm.
can have the lamps burned for eight, so the temperature remains constant and is accelerated by the light of the slippage has apparently worked.
Yesterday I bought another heater 18.99! quite expensive (I know it is much cheaper), but I still had a gift voucher, the heating element but I can only use when I have a larger pool, I'm going down soon.

Sea Life München
The SeaLife Munich opened its doors in 2006. Of course, I had as soon as possible to it, which is a huge queue and a waiting period brought mitsich 3 hours.
It is a beautiful underwater world
The Roche pool is above left open, the animals seem very tame to be, but at the direction of nurses to handle it is strictly prohibited to skate.
But I must say it was worth it.
prevails in all the rooms an indescribable atmosphere. You feel put themselves in another world.

The highlight is of course the shark tank, there are black tip is, of course, these rare larger than 2 feet, but if you never seen a live shark has seen them live, this is very impressive.

sharks are really hard to photograph, since they constantly are in motion. And not just slow.
